What Happens At My Consultation?

A full and comprehensive exam is the ONLY way to know if LASIK will be right for you, but some folks hesitate to take up this offer because they just don’t know what to expect, or fear a sales pitch.

Here’s what to expect from a LASIK Consultation at Bellevue LASIK & Cornea:

Step 1 – Your Peace of Mind

Almost every LASIK patient has concerns and questions about the procedure. Frankly, we’d be worried if a patient didn’t want to know everything about their surgery.  So, our first step in any consultation is to find out exactly what you are concerned about and then answer any and every question you have. Given the extremely high technological precision of LASIK, the only real variable is the patient’s confidence and comfort in having the procedure. Therefore, we take special care to ensure you fully understand what happens during the procedure and what LASIK can do for you.

Step 2 – The Exam

This step begins by meeting one of our skilled technicians. We will do a brief screening that includes: a review of your medical history, complete a corneal map, test corneal thickness, and then meet with Dr. Leavitt or Dr. Farag so they can determine if you are suited for LASIK.

Step 3 – Reviewing Exam Results

This is when you’ll find out if you’re a good candidate for LASIK. Dr. Leavitt will explain the test results and let you know if you’re a good candidate for LASIK or if another type of technology is more suitable. And that’s it. You’re done. The entire purpose of the Consultation is to determine IF you’re a good candidate. If you’d like to learn about our financing options and our 20/20 Money Back Commitment we will be happy to explain them.

If you’d like to schedule your procedure there and then, that’s fine with us too, or you can go home and come to a decision later. We’ve done our job of verifying that you’re a candidate – now it’s over to you to decide if you will have the procedure.
