Financial Obligation for Laser Eye Surgery Medicare and health insurance organizations do not pay for ASA or LASIK eye surgery. Neither do most insurance companies. The fee covers your laser eye surgery and certain pre- and post-operative services. At the time of your pre-operative evaluation, $149.00 will be collected to cover this service. If you proceed with laser eye surgery, this amount will be deducted from the surgery fee. The balance of the surgery fee will be collected on the day of laser eye surgery. Post-operative services include a 24-hour check and three other assessments at one week, one month and three months. The surgery fee does not cover the cost of eye glasses or contact lenses, the cost of plugs, the cost of certain medications, or the cost of services provided at other facilities. If you decide to obtain some of your post-operative care elsewhere, you will be responsible for arranging and paying the costs of the post-operative care. Financing is available to some patients; please ask one of our consultants for details. Should you require financing, please remember that authorization of financing must be received one week prior to your pre-operative assessment.
