LASIK Eye Surgery Consultation Your doctor can usually perform a full evaluation when you come in for your initial LASIK eye surgery consultation. This will determine whether you are eligible for LASIK eye surgery. Your doctor then will discuss with you the results of your evaluation and let you know if you are a good candidate. At your consultation, your eyes will be photographed and a computerized map (corneal topography) will be created. No one has a perfectly rounded cornea, and the topographer will display the corneal irregularities and the actual steepness or flatness that the surgeon must correct.
