Seattle Intralase Lasik Surgery

IntraLASIK (IntraLase)

Serving Seattle, Bellevue, Everett, Olympia, and Tacoma, WA

Ophthalmologist Dr. Leavitt and Bellevue LASIK were the first in the Puget Sound area to perform IntraLASIK all laser LASIK eye surgery.

A safer corneal flap
The Intralase™ femtosecond laser was developed to improve the safety of this first step of the LASIK procedure. It virtually eliminates the risk involved in creating the corneal flap.

Dr. Leavitt programs the desired thickness, diameter, and hinge placement. Then without using a blade, the Intralase laser creates a predictable uniform-thickness flap. Being more precise and predictable than the microkeratome traditionally used to make the flap, the IntraLase laser can make it thinner. This is to the advantage of people with extra-thin corneas, or more severe myopia (which means steeper corneas).

Seattle Intralase VideoIntralase flap creation is an important first step for a LASIK procedure. It gives unprecedented safety and precision. Intralase can be combined with Conventional LASIK or Custom Wavefront Guided LASIK. When combined with the VISX CustomVue LASIK, it is known as iLASIK.
