why choose us

Welcome to Bellevue LASIK & Cataract

Over 75,000 People Have Chosen Bellevue LASIK & Cataract.

Since 1991 Bellevue LASIK & Cataract has focused on providing the highest quality vision care with safety as our governing principle. We provide full vision care to ensure that you receive the correct treatment for your unique pair of eyes. Our doctors will not approve you for a vision procedure unless you are an excellent candidate and have the right vision characteristics to support the procedure. This helps to minimize complications and ensure the best outcome.

While we have had an impressive number of patients put their trust in us over the years, our focus is always on the person. You’ll never feel “like a number” when you come to us for any vision need…from LASIK or cataract surgery to routine eye exams and eye disease management.

Dr. Kent Leavitt and Dr. Christina Farag are ready to be your vision care providers for life. Contact us today to meet our outstanding team!

Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Kent Leavitt has served Seattle’s vision care needs since 1991. His commitment and experience has earned him a reputation for the pursuit of excellence and for providing satisfaction beyond his patients’ expectations.

Dr. Leavitt is skilled in LASIK as well as alternative vision correction technologies such as ICL, premium cataract surgery and lens replacement, corneal transplant surgery and surgical treatment of eye diseases.

LASIK Experience:

  • Performed over 20,000 LASIK procedures.

  • First ophthalmologist in the region to perform IntraLase™ bladeless and Custom Wavefront guided laser vision correction surgery.

  • Has had LASIK surgery himself.

  • His conservative approach means approximately 10% of patients interested in LASIK are not candidates, however, he is able to recommend and provide alternative vision care for a majority of those patients.

  • Frequently treats cases referred by other LASIK surgeons and has a well-founded reputation among his peers as a leading eye surgeon in the Pacific Northwest.

Training and Beyond

Dr. Leavitt received his medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his ophthalmology residency and corneal fellowship at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Following his Fellowship, he was asked to continue on as faculty. Dr. Leavitt has served as a clinical instructor, investigator and consultant to several medical organizations and institutions including the FDA. He has been involved in research, teaching and lecturing other doctors and writing articles for Ophthalmology journals.

Affordable Financing Options

Affording LASIK

LASIK is an elective procedure and is usually not covered by medical insurance. That means you’ll have to pay most, if not all, of the fee out of your own pocket. The good news is that we offer monthly payment options that can make 20/20 vision or better as affordable as a few dollars a day – and without the ongoing costs of contact lenses.

Like other types of refractive surgery such as PRK and LASEK, the LASIK procedure reshapes the cornea to enable light entering the eye to be properly focused onto the retina for clearer vision. In most cases, laser… Read More

How Long Does Cataract Surgery Take?

Cataract surgery is a procedure used to treat cataracts where changes in the lens of the eye cause cloudy, blurry or misty vision. PRK Healing Times

Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) is a type of laser eye surgery procedure intended to correct a person’s vision, reducing their dependency on glasses or contact lenses. PRK was the first type of laser eye surgery for vision correction and is the predecessor of LASIK. PRK healing times are longer than recovery from LASIK surgery. It may… Read More
